Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played between two players (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, with the objective of hitting a felt-covered rubber ball over the net into the opponent’s court in such a way that the opponent is unable to return the ball. Players use rackets to strike the ball, and points are scored when the opponent fails to return the ball within the court boundaries. The game consists of several sets, with the player or team needing to win a number of sets to win the match. Tennis is known for its unique scoring system, which includes terms such as love, fifteen, thirty, forty, and game. It is played both recreationally and competitively around the world, with major tournaments like Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open, and the Australian Open being significant events in the sport.
