Football

Football, also known as soccer in some regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players primarily use their feet to move the ball, although they can use any part of their body except their arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area.

The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Matches are typically played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a short halftime intermission. Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Football is the world’s most popular sport, with millions of players and spectators globally. It is played at both amateur and professional levels, with major international tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup, attracting significant global attention. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and physical fitness, and has a rich history and cultural significance across various countries.
